A spokesperson for the Midland Academies Trust said, “The new name for George Eliot Academy has been revealed at an exciting time for our school community as we grow and improve and welcome the recent Ofsted judgement that our school is ‘Good’ in all categories.
“We have refreshed our logo to better reflect the writer after whom we are named and the emphasis we place on the importance of reading for pupils’ development. We are proud of our history, our connection to George Eliot and our place at the heart of the local community in Nuneaton. The four stars within the logo represent our values of self-discipline, tenacity, ambition, and responsibility.
“The school has been an academy in all but name for the last decade since it joined the Midland Academies Trust and, as we mark our progress towards becoming an ‘Outstanding’ school, we are pleased to refresh and update our appearance. The new logo will be rolled out gradually and will extend to our signage and uniform in due course. New uniform will be available from September 2022, and we have reassured pupils and their parents that any uniform purchased before this date can still be worn.”
